Through my artwork, I would like to celebrate the unknown, and question the way we engage with the world as a whole community and as an individual being. I’m looking to explore the perception and the manifestation of the physical reality, through scientific enquiry and creative approach. I have been questing the Void, and how to respond to it. For me, art is an act of meandering, not the lazy wander to escape the world but a chance to reset obvious answers about our physical world and society.

In most of my artworks, there is a notion of scale and precision which has been informed by my scientific practice as a nuclear physicist. When I create, I am not only looking to give an impressionistic reflection on time and space, but I am incorporating rationality.

My approach to art is not limited to the use of a single medium. I choose a medium for its quality to echo a specific subject, starting from a question and ending up in an artistic experiment, which can be performative, purely visual or includes some interactive elements. When I am using stained glass for example, by allowing the light to blur the notion of boundaries, I am looking to create artwork not separated but enfolded within the outside world. Beyond any conceptual consideration, I like the aesthetic experience rendered by the glass, its vulnerability, ethereality and the way it shapes and colors the space. I do not want to capture the light. I want to collaborate with it. For the same reason, I do embossing and monochrome. Without pigments, the visual experience is created and enhanced by the interplay of the light with the surface of the material, making the space between the canvas and the viewer almost tangible.

The interactivity is another important aspect present in several of my works. Here again, I wish to keep my art engaged with the world. By allowing the viewer to intimately connect with the piece, I want my artwork to became the point of connection between my thought and the public.

I see performance as a radical way of communication. In my performative art practice, the political is present. I do not want to give my point of view, I want even less to give an answer. But I want to put the candlelight on contradictions and maybe challenging topic we are facing. With the hope they can light up some ideas or possibilities to create a different life.
